Adjourning

The adjourning phase is when a team completes a project and then decides if they want to  take on another project.  I believe the high performing groups are the hardest to leace due to the fact they seem to accomplish  their goals. They all are working together as a team to make sure every detail is considered for the task.  A team I was sadden when I had to leave was my Pre-k team. We worked hard as a team to make sure that all studnents were learning and that our program was a success. Was their times that we stepped on each others toes ? Yes ,but I think this only helped our team to become stronger.
I believe that when you have team members who can work for the common goal and not for   acknowledgment  then that is a great team. I think adjourning is an essential part of a team . This is when the team can look at its accomplishments as well as its failures. I believe this will allow team members to see if the team should continue or to find other teams.

  1. Joy it is important that the team have the goal for accompolishment as oppose to individual praises. As the saying goes, there is no "I" in team and when people can work as a team you go further. I am sure that leaving your pre-k team was hard but knowing that you overcame obstacles in the process of the team building should make you feel it was a successful team.

I am having an issue related to a team member not working for the common goal but yet the acknowledgement. That is so frustrating and it has made me want to end and adjourn the group faster than it should be. You are so right that when the team can look at its accomplishments as well as its failures it can decide to continue. This is usually the time where the decision is obvious on who did what work. You can only hope that if the team decides to continue that those who look back and didn't do as much work would decide to step it up.
