What I would take to another country
The three items I would take if I had to go to another country would be my bible, a family photo album and my wedding rings. The bible would allow me to continue reading about God and knowing that he is with me. The photo album would allow me to look at my family. My wedding rings would remind me of what all my husband and I have been through so this would give me strength to over come this obstacle. If when I got there and was told I could only have one item I honstley do not know what I would choose. I could take the photos and place them into the bible. I think this exercise has offered me insight into what is important in my life.

It is very hard position, to be able to pick only three items that can represent who you are, your values and believes. I think you did a wonderful job in selecting these items, they clearly represent your faith and values.

I know it is hard to choose three items. I hd also chosen the wedding pictures as well. My husband and I have been married for almost 4 years now and everyday it is a great learning experience. He and I have shared so much during our marriage and I know we will continue to share more.
I had to really reflect on what I was going to take...after reading your post...which is great, I wonder why I never thought of my own wedding bands. That would be a great part of my families culture to pass on. However, I did chose my families photo album which includes our main wedding picture. I also chose our family bible.
ReplyDeleteJoy I think that is very smart of you to put your photos in the Bible to make 1 item. They are both treasures that I am sure bring a lot of your family culture. It is hard to let go of family items but the culture lives on.

ReplyDeleteI think that you picked some great items to take with you. I also wanted to bring a photo album. I also agree with you about putting the photos is the bible to make one item...That would be a great way to save both items.
